I'm in my last week(s) of summer session at UCI. Arghhhh, so busy. Only three classes and still I'm so busy. I have no time to do anything with anyone, let alone draw. Hardly, anyway. There's always time for anime, though. Especially in the morning when I wake up to my nice cup 'o tea.

I finally managed to get my hands on Stardust the other day. Man, great movie. Ironically, right after watching the movie, I read "The Watchmen" for one of my classes...yeah. LOL The world sucks. I went from "Magical unicorns in magical kingdoms and everything's all SHINEY WITH LIFE" to "Shoot...My world is lame. We're all out for ourselves and we don't give a crap about our planet and--SHOOT NEW YORK BLEW UP!" >x>;; Kinda lame change of attitude.
I guess that's why I'm an aspiring fantasy fiction writer: because I want to create worlds that don't suck as much as this one. Sure, we've got some great things on our side (video games -hurr-, nature, microwaves...-kidding about the last one-), but there's no magic in our lives. As adults, we all seem to discard all those fairytales and instances of magic. Why? We're grownups. We don't have time to imagine such things. We have to make money. Ensure our name is scribbled down in history someplace for some kid to read when we're long beneath the ground. There's more important things to life than our imaginations.
I'm a child at heart. Sure, I can admit it. I'm 20 and I'm a child at heart. (Technically, being born on Leap Year, I'm only 5, so I'm allowed to be.) I want to dream up worlds that inspire adventures and fun play in children. I want to reinvent the times when we used to run around in the fields pretending to be some hero that traveled the distant seas to rescue some princess in a faraway kingdom. I want to inspire children to dream things like "when I grow up, I want to be a princess" or "When I grow up, I want to be a dragonslayer."
We need magic in our lives. Why else is Disneyland so popular (and such a rip-off. *mutter*)? With all the crap going on around us, we need to dream, to imagine, to weave stories into our thickening silk lines of fate. And I'm going to write those stories.
o___O||| And I totally didn't mean to go on some big rant about life and it's lameness. >x>
